Definition
of Constellation
Ancient astronomers
imagined that they saw people, animals, and mythological beings in the sky
which appears to be so distinctive that it is easily identifiable and
remembered. They called them Constellations.
A Constellationis a group of stars
visibly related to form a specific configuration. In 3 dimension, most of stars
that we observed haven’t onerelation to other. The Late Latin
term constellation can be translated as "set of stars".Since
stars travel on their own orbits through their galaxy, constellations change
slowly and can even disappear. This takes tens of thousands of years.

number of international projects including the Carte du Ciel, the Union of the Sun and the International Time
Bureau (Bureau International de l'Heure). Benjamin Baillaud was first leader.
Pieter Johannes van Rhijn served as the leader of the 1932 to 1958 while Stevan
Rully be leader from 1958 until now

History of Contellation
Scientists guessed that the humans have made constellations since the Ice
Age. The constellation Ursa Major (the Great Bear) has become a legend in
Alaska and Siberia. In fact, residents of Alaska and Siberia is remote
populations since ancient times.
At the end of the ice age or 14,000 years ago, the Ancient Egyptians also
have their own constellations. Ancient Egyptian constellation is the famous
constellation Nazar birds, snakes Cobra, the Nile, and Osiris (Orion).
However, the Babylonians made and
noted the constellations in the sky (about 5,600 years before). Even the
Babylonians always record the events in the sky accurately. The Babylonians who
first made mention of the zodiac. Some of the zodiacs that are still used today
among other: Sagittarius, Virgo, Gemini, and Pisces. Science Babylonian
constellations then are taken the Greeks. The Greeks added fabled Greek gods
into Babylonian constellations.
Naming of constellation became
different, depends on the place. The example scorpion constellation by the
Greeks but Javanese called “Kelapa Doyong” constellation, because it is similar
with coconut tree. Thirteen among other constellations passed by sun during the
yea, and twelve among there named zodiac.
D.
